Proposing a New Treaty

From the Diplomacy Screen when you select the “Propose New Treaty” option from the context menu a propose treaty sub-window will be opened. This window is split into two sides, with the left half listing the things that you demand, and the right half listing the things that you offer.

By right-clicking anywhere inside that box a context menu pops up, offering you to propose various treaties.

You have the following options:

Diplomatic Agreements

Offer/Demand Credits

Sharing Information

You can make these agreements part of a overall diplomatic agreement, but then the binding of that treaty might be longer. You can choose to make this a separate treaty, because then its binding is only 20 turns, and canceling it after its expiration will not affect the diplomatic stance either.

Treaty Length

This allows you to set a custom binding for this treaty. For instance if you offer “credits per turn”, you can define how many turns you want this treaty to last. You can also extend peace- and military-alliance treaties beyond their usual duration. However, you can not set a shorter treaty length than the diplomatic treaty allows.
